I've just recently discovered your blog~~and then realized you're related to the fellow I read about on another blog out of Wichita Falls~~You sure make it look fun. Thanks for the pictures and descriptive commentary.
ReplyDeleteGlad you are enjoying the blog. I am a bit behind on posting. We finally have summer in northern Colorado and we are riding... and riding... and riding... and yep fun is the plan anytime we saddle up.
ReplyDeleteI do not know of another biker blog out of Wichita Falls except John "Snapshot" Bailey's North Texas Bikers Blog. We are not related, but he is a good friend.
Thanks for taking the time to comment.
Ride safe. Ride free. -V-
Yes, it's John's blog that I read but I did not mean to imply you were related to him but to one of the fellow's he writes about....and has said he takes extra pictures of so he can send them to you....
ReplyDeleteWe are from Amarillo and plan to ride up into New Mexico and Colorado looking for fall foliage toward the end of Sept. Because of your posting on the Donkey Days we will make a stop in Cripple Creek. I wouldn't have known anything about the many events they host if it hadn't been for you. We have a Yamaha Road Star with a Texas sidecar, so wave if you see us go by:>)
LOL! Yeah - the guy John writes about sometimes is my Dad (Ted aka Frosty). You'll see a good many posts about Dad here as well - this blog is how we keep in touch with our friends and family in Texas and I created it to share our rides.
ReplyDeleteI do not know how familiar you are with Colorado so I'll just say - keep an eye on the weather forecast for the Springs area in late September. Cripple Creek sits west of Pikes Peak at nearly 9500 elevation. It can get chilly fast (especially near dark) and snow flurries are not out of the question. Sometimes we get a beautiful Indian Summer and sometimes Ol Man Winter visits earlier than we like. Needless to say, we are hoping for a looonnnggg riding season this year. In the review section below, you find a few restaurant and motel recommendations.
We'll keep an eye out for ya. ;)
Ride safe. Ride free.
