Patriot Guard Rides in Remembrance of WWII Heroes

February 23, 2008
Fort Collins, CO

Wichita Falls, Texas

Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel. Survivors of the World War II Battle of Iwo Jima and their families were on hand to view an annual reenactment of the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima. Six thousand, eight hundred and twenty one Americans were lost on that island in 1945 not counting the thousands of additional casualties providing sea and air support during the battle.

More info about Iwo Jima

The Patriot Guard provided a flag-line in honor of the veterans and the occasion. My Dad, Ted Foster was one of the Patriot Guard riders and a flag bearer. Dad, who has actually been to Iwo Jima, says he was proud to participate and will never miss another event like this as long as he's able to ride. Mom says, it was a wonderful thing to see.

I say, DAD - I could not be more proud of you.
