Colorado, USA
The Ride spent the night in the penthouse at Thunder Mountain. It gets to do that for maintenance about every 2500 miles or so. Needless to say when the ride is not where it belongs in the garage it does not take much to get Tim up and going the next morning.
We made the run in good time and made one stop on the way back. We were about to decide on a lunch location when Tim suggested we take the Tahoe home and both "ride" to lunch. Well, that sounded like a great idea to me...
As we were rolling out of the neighborhood after ditching the cage, we encountered The Ride's Fan Club (aka the day care kids across the street). The youngster in the orange shirt (a future Harley rider if there ever was one) is particularly fond of The Ride. He waves nearly every day when Tim rides out. He noticed that Tim rode out yesterday with me behind him in the car and that Tim did not ride back in. He thought something was wrong with the motorcycle and it took us riding by and revving it up to reassure him that all was well in our Harley world.
Vern's was our lunch destination of course which requires a ride over the dam and back - of course! There are other roads that lead to Vern's but they are not nearly as much fun as the Dam ride. So, as is our custom, we rode over the dam to Vern's and back over the dam from Vern's. It was a beautiful day in northern Colorado if uncharacteristically HOT! (Don't laugh Texas/Oklahoma).
Today's Ride = 63 miles
