Colorado, USA
Wildfires still have our skies gray with smoke and ash but we rolled out about noon for a short Dam/Lake ride. The High Park Fire started June 9, 2012. Today was the estimated containment day. The Waldo Canyon Fire near Colorado Springs is still burning. The weather is hot, dry and windy. We rode around the lake and eventually turned toward Lyons. We remarked on the fact that at least we can see the mountains today. For weeks now they have been obscured by smoke. In Lyons, we decided to grab a bite to eat and something cold to drink so we stopped at the popular Outlaw Saloon and found a seat on the patio. The patio is very nice. We ordered a BLT, fries and onion rings that we split. I am glad we were not particularly hungry and decided to split the meal as it was certainly nothing special. Too bad - such nice surroundings and mediocre food.

Nice patio at the Outlaw Saloon - too bad the food was mediocre.
The temp was rising and had exceeded our comfort zone so we meandered our way home to the patio and a couple of beers and burned a couple of burgers on the grill.
Today's ride = 68.6 miles
